My Story
Elk Putters was built on legacy, craftsmanship, and a work ethic that never accepts “good enough.”
The name ELK comes from my initials, Elliott Lance Kuykendall, a name that carries generations of pride in doing things the right way. I was raised in a blue-collar family where quality wasn’t optional; it was expected.
My father built his career in the sheet metal roofing industry, a trade that demands precision, durability, and accountability. When your name is attached to something designed to withstand decades of weather, shortcuts simply aren’t an option. That mindset shaped Elk Putters long before the first putter was ever finished.
Our Mission
As a former Division I football player, I carried those lessons into golf, a game where preparation and detail separate good from great, and founded Elk with one belief: if your name is on it, it better be exceptional. Every putter that enters the Elk workshop is held to that standard. Whether restoring a classic, applying a tour-inspired finish, or creating a fully custom build, the goal is simple, to deliver a putter that inspires complete confidence when it matters most.
